Comedy Collector’s Set (Heckler / The Big White / Beer League / Fifty Pills)

HECKLER
Heckler, a comedy-documentary that explores the increasingly critical world we live in, follows Jamie Kennedy as he investigates hecklers and the entertainers who endure them: Russell Peters, Lewis Black, Craig Ferguson, Bill Maher, Paul Rodriguez, Roseanne Barr, and more. A fast-moving, “hilarious…claws-out look at the often brutal relationship between performers and their most vocal critics” (VARIETY), Heckler shows just how nasty and mean the fight is between those in the spotlight…and those in the dark.

THE BIG WHITE
Outstanding performances are delivered by an all-star cast in this quirky black comedy centered on Paul Barnell (Robin Williams), a down on his luck Alaska travel agent who’s on the brink of bankruptcy and whose beloved wife, Margaret (Holly Hunter), is on the brink of insanity. So what’s a nice guy with good intentions but bad business sense to do? The answer lies frozen in a dumpster outside of Barnell Great Escapes–a dead body Paul hopes to pass off as his long-lost brother Raymond (Woody Harrelson) and then collect on the life insurance. Unfortunately, investigator Ted Watters (Giovanni Ribisi) who’s anxious to transfer back to the lower 48 with his girlfriend (Alison Lohman), isn’t about to let Barnell walk away with a million bucks. Adding to Paul’s avalanche of problems are two aspiring hit men-turned-kidnappers (Tim Blake Nelson and W. Earl Brown) and the stunning return of the supposedly dead Raymond, who now has an ax to grind with his brother. Desperation is running high in the “big white,” and if Paul is smart, he’ll blow the snow, take the money and run…to South America.

BEER LEAGUE
Beer, broads and softball combine with hilarious results in ARTIE LANGE’S BEER LEAGUE, an over-the-top comedy about a group of misfits whose weekly softball games descend more into fights for macho dominance than making home runs. When love enters his life (Cara Buono), it unexpectedly alters Artie’s low self-esteem; and the odds for winning–not only the league trophy but a new life–are considerably amped along with the comedy and chaos.

FIFTY PILLS
Darren Giles (Lou Taylor Pucci) has lost his college scholarship, can’t work up the courage to ask out the girl of his dreams, and doesn’t have the cash to stay in college another semester. Unless he can survive a teenage dominatrix and New York’s biggest drug mogul, convince his parents he’s not gay, write a passing paper on Dante’s Inferno, escape three thugs chasing the wrong guy, and sell fifty pills of Ecstasy in time to make his tuition payment, he’ll never get the chance to date the girl of his dreams (Kristen Bell).
